Jimmy emigrated to the Big Apple in 1986 at the age of 17, and is well known for his contribution to Irish boxing where he continued boxing turning professional under the guise of Teddy Atlas who also took former boxer Mike Tyson under his wing. Jimmy fought his first professional fight in Madison Square Gardens in 1992 and on his second year as a Pro Jimmy managed to get onto the undercard of Wayne Mc Cullough’s  (Olympian silver medalist) bout against Boualem Belkif  in the National Basketball Arena Tallaght.
